Water Spray Parks

In 2011, Grassy Creek Regional Park and Riverwood Park received new water spray parks, thanks to a grant from United Water.

Water spray parks spray streams of water in multiple directions. Because there is no standing water, lifeguards are not required. They are activated by a motion sensor located on the concrete pad and cycle for about 15 minutes. The parks are free and open to the public from dawn to dusk.

Spray parks provide much-needed services to park patrons and elevate positive experiences at Indy Parks.

"The spraygrounds provide a fun, eco-friendly way for our youth to enjoy the parks during the hot summer months," says Tim Blagsvedt, United Water project manager. "Making the planet sustainable is the greatest job on Earth; that's why we support Indy Parks as they help build and sustain a healthy community."

Riverwood Park and Grassy Creek Regional Park are homes to two of Indy Parks' newest Summer Supervised Play Programs, which provide free, structured activities and programs to youth ages 6 to 12.
