Bethel Park Pool Replacement

Bethel Park, is a community park located on the southeast side of Indianapolis. More than 5,700 children and families enjoy the Bethel Park Family Center and Pool annually. In 2009 the Bethel Park pool did not open. The typical life expectancy of a public pool is 15-20 years, Bethel Pool was built in 1971 and was long overdue for replacement and upgrades. The pool lost an estimated 7.8 million gallons of water per season and was in need of major renovations.

Thanks to the generosity of Lilly Endowment, Inc., Bethel Park pool was completely redesigned and replaced.

The new pool opened to the community on Julyl 28, 2010.  On August 7, 2010 the Bethel Park Community, Mayor Ballard, Indy Parks and Recreation and the Indianpaolis Parks Foundaton celebrated with a pool dedication/celebration.  Bethel Park aquatic facility now offers a 25-yard, 6-lane pool with a three-story speed slide and interactive spray ground.
